I almost never post here anymore. I signed up for Livejournal to join a group for people with Asperger's Syndrome, which has since been deleted, I've made very very few new friends, and most of the people I know face to face have given up on LJ all together.

With a few obvious holdouts, of course. You know who you are.

Anyway. I'm officially giving up on this blog. I'll probably still post two or three times a year when something noteworthy happens. I'm going to move all of you actively posting people to my RSS feeds, so don't feel abandoned. There's pressure to join Facebook, but I'm still reluctant.

However... Should any of you be interested, you can find me on Twitter. I'd have posted this sooner, but being on a local cell provider, I had to cobble together access to my tweets from spare pieces of software. 98% of you shouldn't have that problem.

Holly and I started the day out with We Love Katamari. Two people pushing a katamari is... interesting. Fun and frustrating. After she went to work my plan was to deposit Amtgard money, promptly spend some of it on rulebooks, and then call Amanda back and see if she wanted to hang out, but I fell back asleep until 5:15 and spent hours driving around for what should have been 20 minutes of errands. I SHOULD NEVER DRIVE. Got all of my stuff done though. People have been promising to print out rulebooks at home for everyone for years. I got tired of waiting. :P

ProMag got bumped up to 5th level! I could have been using it months ago! GRAAAA!

While waiting for Holly to get home I finally got XMMS2 working. No more command line music player! Woot! And I think it will lead to fixing a few other compiling issues...

Used my shiny new dremel today. If you ever seen me in person, odds are you seen me with my broken-wobbly-coffee-cup-with-a-lid-for-a-base. Ground the threading off of an otherwise perfectly sized lid, and now it sits much better. Still kind of rediculous, but I get attached to my coffee cups.

Is my first time driving in bad weather. Wish someone would have warned me about the whole ABS & snow thing. I almost rear ended someone on my way to work. And I rolled through a stoplight.

Dumb breaks. Think I've got the hang of it now, though.

Work was awesome. It really started to snow about an hour after I got there and we died off bad. Got to sit down and enjoy most of Peanuts with Mayze, who seems to have gotten even hotter the last month and a half I haven't seen her. Bad Pete. Cold shower.

I did half a doughnut in the parking lot. It was amusing.

Lamp?

Not really. Flaming beef lard behind the dumpster at work.

Another blog where I apologize for not posting. Has been months. There have been a few blog worthy things, I just haven't been bothered to get off my ass and do it. These things are:

1. Summer Trials

2. Funeral

3. Wedding

4. Autumn Trials

....Ummm. I should probably get out more.

In two weeks, I will be thirty years old. I'm trying not to think about it. Still having a party, though. Woohoo! You should all come! Here's a fun conversation between Holly and I.

Holly: "What do you want for your birthday?"

Pete: "Boo-"

Holly: "Don't say books!"

Pete: *silence*

So I have no idea what I want.

My insurance rate went down because I'm a "safe driver". Go ahead and laugh. I did.

Our power went out for about twenty minutes on Thursday. Night really a big deal. Seems to happen a lot more here in Sergeant Bluff than in Sioux City. But when everything was powered back up my computer wasn't working right. X server wouldn't run, no filesystem other than ext3 would work, and worst yet, net was broken. BROKEN! So I've been banging my head in trying to figure it out. It came to me at work. I feel like an idiot. Ted would never forgive me for being so dumb.

All I had to do to fix it was run depmod. Just once. *sigh*

Everyone say hello to Sandra, my new Myspace friend! She's way down south in Paraguay. And say hello to a different person who's been posting anonymously in my LJ from the same town as Sandra. But different. Really. :P

Pictures from Rivermoor midreign. Mostly taken by Rah and Tsuki, as I am too shy.

I should warn, two of these might be NSFW. Kind of. Maybe.

"How can a bag be adults only?" I ask myself. Then I saw it.

It's not really that bad. Go look.

Boo
Stayed home from Amtgard today to dig the pond. Made good progress till black spots started crawling all over the world, so we came in, rehydrated, and showered. Then it rained a lot.

After that we spent our last day on vacation doing nothing. Am really bummed out.

Was a good time. Too tired now for details. Got super lost on the way home. For like two hours. All praise Myra, Cogars better half, for conjuring up directions out of the aether.

I'm leaving for Lincoln in... six and a half hours with Dakar and Cogar. Midreign better be awesome. This is my first long distance trip driving. I'm not actually nervous, though that may change when I hit heavy traffic in Lincoln.

I promised a cute little blond girl embarrassing pictures of Cogar dying. I'm sure I'll find someone to accommodate.

I. Hate. Maggots.

I realise flies have there place in the grand scheme of things. Meat has to rot, circle of life, etc.

Don't care. One of those irrational things we humans always coming up with. I hate them.

The following didn't take place around food, or I'd have closed the store. A little crazy, but I'd have done it.

There were maggots falling out of the ceiling at work. Maggots. Ceiling. Falling. A lot.

We looked on the roof. No body. I'm guessing a bird or bat died somewhere inconvenient. Bluh.

Fuck that.

It is so time for a new job when it starts to rain maggots.
